With the rains, thunder & trains going by every 90 minutes we had a restless night, but the one saving grace was the free sani dump and potable water.

Almost made it worth the lack of sleep.

It was a long drive to Steward BC,  thru the torrential downpour and numerous road construction, but once we arrived it was well worth the 9hr drive.

Stewart has gorgeous scenery, snow capped mountains, long waterfalls, and blue glaciers. The water rushing down the mountain is so cold that the quickly flowing river is covered in a soft white mist.

Steward is an old town with many old buildings – hotel/brothel/bar. Lots of quaint shops. After dinner we walk along the estuary boardwalk to view the mist rising up over the harbour.
