Sydney – Coastal Walk
Spent the day strolling about the city of Sydney under clear blue skies. Our first stop was the Customs house to view the model of Sydney that you walked on to view.
Then it was off to the Sydney Opera House to get a closer look and some more pictures of the Harbour Bridge.
We decline to take the tours and walk the 1.5k to Mrs. McQuarrie’s Chair for more views of the Opera house and bridge, as well as the Naval Yard.
We then proceed to the Royal Botanic Gardens and walk the grounds viewing the varied plants just starting to bloom, as well as the massive trees.
After eating our lunch under a shady tree with the other parkgoers, we head over to the library. The main library is amazing with its 3 levels of books and lead glass windows. John Wayne, the security guard from Texas, showed us everything we should do at the library.
We also visit Parliament House, the Old Mint,Sydney Town Hall and St Mary’s Cathedral. At the Cathedral we watch a bride and groom having their wedding pictures done.
On our way to a delicious fish and chip dinner, we fight our way thru the many office workers streaming out of work heading for the bus and train station.
