Up at 6:00am so we can make it to the docks for 8:00 for our 2hr tour of the sea life at ballestas island. They harvest tons of bird droppings once every eight years to export to British farmers.

We boarded on time and saw cormarants, sea lions, penguins pelicans and boobies.  We also saw the ancient drawing of a candlabra in the sand.

Then it was off to a winery to see how Pisco is made, followed by a little taste testing. One shouldn’t do this on an empty stomach- went right to my head.

Then a quick lunch and we then  headed for the sand dunes where we will be doing some sand surfing.

Just 3 more hours driving thru the desert till we reach Nazca.
