Kingston: 1000 Islands and counting
Spent yesterday morning getting the cab AC repaired, then it was back up the 401 and once again making our way through the crazy traffic as we passed thru Toronto on our way to Kingston, arriving there just after 6:00pm. A long day but now that we have working AC a pleasant one.
This morning we head out for Gananoque to take a 1 hr tour of the 1000 islands of the St. Lawrence River. Our tour takes us under the bridge linking Canada to the US then on thru the many islands of all sizes, some with small cabins, others with huge mansions and boathouses. There are many cruise boats,sea-doos, sailboats, and motorboats moving all around us as we head to our final destination Heart Island and the Bolt castle. This island was owned by Mr. Bolt the owner of the Waldorf Astoria who had it cut into the shape of a heart as a gift for his wife.
Since it is such a hot day we stop at a beach we saw on our way to the cruise and spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the clear, clean, and warm water. A refreshing and cool way to spend the rest of this very hot day.
