Off to Wall & Badlands National Park
Cabela’s was quite noisy due to the party going on at the restaurant next door and it’s proximity to the highway but free is free, today we’re off to check out Wall Drug Store. We have seen billboards for Wall since Rapid City, they are everywhere so we are heading out to check them out on our way to the Badlands. Turns out Wall is a whole city block of trinkets, T-shirts, souvenirs, western wear and general “stuff”. An interesting stop full of junk one really doesn’t need.
We also stopped at the Minuteman Missle Site Museum and really enjoyed it as well as an actual Delta 9 launch site – complete with dummy missile to view, one of the hundreds in the area.
Badland National Park is fantastic – reminds me of the Badlands in Alberta. The west end near wall definitely is the most scenic. We spot bighorn sheep & lots of prairie dogs.
Tonight’s campsite is our best to date, we park on BLM land located 1/4 mile from the Pinnacles entrance to the Badlands, with incredible views. We are one of probably 20 RV’s parked here with room for many more.
